Hi there!

My name is Jenna Mitchell and I am 16 years old. I am homeschooled but have been to a lot of different schools in my time and my family has moved a lot because my dad is a pastor and his job calls him to different churches from time to time. We are currently living in Mesa, AZ and we moved here to plant a church in Phoenix about 5 years ago (this is the longest we have ever lived anywhere for one time). I have four sisters, two younger and two older, and one older brother.
I play volleyball for my old school and absolutely love it. I love to sing but I wouldn’t say I am the next beyonce or anyhting like that. ๐Ÿ˜› I am a sophomore in highschool and next year I will be taking community college classes in addition to my homeschool classes to get them out of the way for less money. Even though it may come accross this way…I am not really smart or anything. I am actually kind of stressed about it!
I grew up in a Christian family (my dad’s a pastor) and I don’t have any miraculous story about I became saved. But what I always tell people is that I chose my faith. My parents did not chose it for me. I have been saved by God’s grace and I choose to follow Him all the days of my life. I have been so blessed to have grown up in a Christian family because now we can help each other grow in Christ.
This is kind of an intersting situation for me because I was not planning on going to Nicaragua when I first applied at AIM. I applied for the Kenya, Africa trip and was a part of that team until yesterday when my family and the AIM staff decided that I could not afford that trip because funds were not coming in as planned. But I am SO excited about Nicaragua because I adore kids and I am soooo looking forward to working in orphanages and such. ๐Ÿ˜€ God has His hand in this and I trust Him to lead me down the path He has planned for me!
Do you Ladies have a Facebook group going on yet?? When I was a part of the Kenya team we were all on this group and we got to know each other a lot better then we can on here and for me at least it makes this whole thing seem a little less scary. (I have never been on a mission trip before) I cannot wait to meet you all!!!! Find me on Facebook!

  1. Hey Jenna!
So you’re homeschooled – I was homeschooled too, all the way through graduation ๐Ÿ™‚ I can’t wait to meet you. I am so glad you’ll be on this trip! God is going to do some pretty awesome stuff both in you and through you.
Headed to Facebook to find you…

    Jess

  2. P.S. – I see that Bekah has fantastically anticipated your question about the Facebook group – YES there is one! Search for “AIM Ambassador Trip, Nicaragua, 2010”. You’ll have to request to join.
