I'm sitting in the back of the training center, listening to Nancy Lengkeek talk about identity. It's our first session of the first full day at training camp. Some of the girls are nervous and some are jumping in. I'm sure the parents know which child is theirs.
At check in, each team received sashes with a unique color. We were given hot pink and asked to choose a team name. Katie, who insists she is not a trend starter, immediately tied her band around her head, ninja style. And so our name was given. Meet the Pink Ninja Warriors.
Random Thoughts and Observations:
- The girls listen well to instruction.
- They didn't complain about the rustic cabin and garden hose showers.
Prayers:
- For Jessica and I to stay positive, leading by example.
- For homesickness not to overwhelm all of us.
- That we would be aware of God's active work in our lives.
- That this trip would bring God's glory to Nicaragua.
- For the hearts of the people we will minister to.
